The EU countries with the highest standard VAT rates are Hungary (27 percent), Finland(25.5 percent) and Croatia, Denmark, and Sweden (all at 25 percent). Luxembourglevies the lowest standard VAT rate at 17 percent, followed by Malta (18 percent) and Cyprus, Germany, and Romania (all at 19 percent). The EU’s average standard VAT rate is 21.8 percent, nearly seven percentage points higher than the minimum standard VAT rate required by EU regulation.

Among the eight major European countries that are not part of the European Union—Georgia, Iceland, Moldova, Norway, Switzerland, Turkey, Ukraine, and the United Kingdom—only Switzerland levies a standard VAT rate below the EU minimum at a rate of 8.1 percent. In comparison, in the United States, combined state and local sales tax rates averaged only 7.5 percent in 2024.

1)  Is still way over valued,

2)  Has bounced off a 10% correction TWICE already, and

3)  It would NOT surprise me at all if it AT LEAST tested a 20% correction, before we are done...

BUT, SOMEBODY HAD to do something to save the U.S. economy before the OUT of control Democrat debt, sends this "STRONG ECONOMY" (i.e. a Democrats opinion) into a CRISIS mode, that WOULD PROBABLY lead to a Totalitarian take over (NO MORE Democratic elections), a dissolution of the Democracy, and turn "We the People" into SLAVES... BUT... THAT is PROBABLY what the Democrats probably had in mind all along...

Judging by the things THEY were doing to these last 16 years (since Obama)... A) Creation of the Democrat controlled "Deep State", B) the Weaponization of the DOJ, FBI, and Judicial systems, C) SENDING the Debt to a point of "NO Return" (Unless SOMEONE did what Trump is now doing)... and THEN.. D) Were looking to USURP Power, end the Democracy, and TAKE POWER, AWAY from "We the PEOPLE" !!

SO, my "socks" have NOTHING to do with it... HOWEVER... What the Democrats have been piecing together over the last 16+ years... The Weaponized Legal and Justice systems... the CORRUPTION, WASTE, FRAUD, and ABUSE that DOGE has uncovered due to EMBEDDED Democrat and Bureaucratic  control, THAT DOES have a LOT to do with it !!
