Yeah I know ya hate us do crazy stupid crap on freeway get around us save ya a whole oh maybe 2/3 minutes.

This how goods move across America.

Its a hard life too away from ya home & family weeks at a time.

The "Median Age" of an American Truck Driver is 49 years old.

Younger people today dont wanna do it.

Im older have some health issues just doing local runs part time just acrosd towm Time Clock hours but I cant be out over the road anymore my time has come & gone.

A/I automatic driving cant run a big rig down the highways yet and wont for the forseeable Future despite Waymo Taxi cabs.

When I was a younger man it was like an Adventure I was having the time of my life and stacking my bank account too.

If ya dont like your job looking 4 something new try Trucking School.

Ya gotta take the good with the bad but when ya back in that dock roughly half the time them people were waiting for ya  say "Thanks" too.

You know, now that you mention it, Latino's aren't in the demographic of Road Transport.  I sure hope they don't give Old Asian people the wheel.  The accident could make global headlines.

Envisioning the Headlines....
477 dead in pile up. Details at 11. Duffy needs Rogaine to replace the hair he ripped out.

Karl, Thanks for sharing where the rubber meets the road. I mean it.. It's really cool seeing your real life.

I heard FT Washington in the bit.  I did recently do Atlanta to Savannah.  Shytload of Construction and opprtunity for confusion. That and the GPS quit. I had to stop and reboot the phone.  AFTER I got of Downtown ATL...

There is still time.  Joe the Plumber could be resurrected as Karl the Truck Driver in 2028.

You're right about needing more.  And we both know the days of the 709s and 80s are no longer the norm in the industry as far as freedom and such.

I-40 inbetween Memphis and Little Rock 10 times worse only 4 lanes and nothing but convoys of trucks and cars trying to pass em.

30 to Texarkana lots of deer I once ran one down with a Volvo he looked right at me but was too late to stop at that point.

Cracked the Fiberglass bumper and busted my foglights but didnt punch the radiator.

I called the Sheriffs office told em the mile markers where I hit the deer so they could send somebody remove its carcass off the roadway.

North Little Rock I used stop at the Petro them old black ladies in the restaurant made ya a mean breakfast plus the company I was working for had a fuel account with T/A/Petro so I could fuel up going out double that into a pre-trip on my elogs

used to drive 30 between Memphis to Little Rock to Texarkana at least once a week but in an F-150.

Got stopped once by a Ark. Trooper who was wondering why I'm on that road so much....same thing happened between Alexandria LA., and DeRidder, LA. about a year later.

The Arky Trooper came up on my passenger side door with his hand on his gun thinking I was running drugs

when he peeked in you should have see his face....

I asked him if "so and so sent him to harass me"..do want to mention the name or position of so and so because he's a close friend in the governor's office and is widely known.

We had a long talk on the side of the road and he turned out to be an occasional lunch buddy when it was all said and done.

Try Nick's Ribs and Catfish east of Little Rock sometime....good ****

But Calfornia and some eastern states have passed "Zero Emissions" laws by 2030/2035.

The Technology doesnt exist yet mass scale and the afew electric trucks only go afew hundred miles a charging so mainly local no cross-country there.

Electric Vehicles aint carbon free neither but the do gooders and enviromentalists only concentrate on gasoline and diesel.

Do ya know when ya plug in charge an electric vehicle thats going to the Grid.

Most our electricicity generation capacity is Coal or Natural Gas 2 this day as we speak.

So instead of gas or diesel fuel ya plugging into a Coal Fired generating station because Wind-Power and Solar nice pet prodject the end of the day cant keep up atleast current existing technology.

Furthermore the Greenies & Global Warming people never talk about the Enviromental Devastsation and litterally "Slave Labor" in Africa and Asia to mine the vast amounts of minerals to manufacture Electric Vehicles not a freaking whisper about that aspect of it

My last real "Over The Road" job West Coast turnarounds were my bread & butter.

Load up 3m or Anderson Windows in Minnesota take em San Bernadino nothing but miles and miles of wharehouses off the freeways.

Back haul would be go down San Diego and Mexican Furniture to South Dakota or Wisconsin.

That was like running Auto parts Detroit/ Laredo ya had customs papers and trailers were cable "sealed" too

That's funny.

Racial and ethnic diversity is evident within the trucking industry, with 18.3% of drivers identifying as Black, 4% as Asian, and 23.3% as Hispanic or Latino, highlighting a rich tapestry of backgrounds and perspectives on the open road.
