I never did that but seen em.

Take a buncha new cab tractors connect abuncha them by 5th wheels and deliver them brand new terminal but sit it the yard another month or so until they got Insurannce, Plates, and Regisitration "Straight"

Then Old guys been there 20 years got the "Brand New" sitting out back.

I always got the piece of crap burned oil & stuff but I knew enough keep extra oil and Anti-Freezee my boxes.

Fuses and especially a 9/16s wrench ya gotta adjust Slack on the breaks.

Today slack adjustors "Computer" adjusted but every once in awhile get old 1980s era trailer "Drop Hook" will need do that a wrench yourself.

Hub Oil too always kept a gallon jug side box.

Dont  keep up and fill em real problems.

About a decade ago picked up Chippewa Waters past Eau Claire Wisconsin cases of bottled water  heavy *** load headed Woodmans Marketts Rockford Illinois.

Made it fine down 90  to outskirts of Rockford at a red-light this guy pulled up pointing  my trailer tandems where "Smoking" crazy.

Blew a hub pulled over on a side street called up "Dispatch" what ya wanna do.

The roadside service guy didnt show up until 8/9 nine oclock that night.

He packed the trailer wheels with thick grease get ya back home but Woodmans was "Closed" I took the truck back home and they hadda crossdock the bottled water a better trailer.

Oh my gosh the same carrier an International 92 or 94 I a straight cab but a million miles on that ...

Hadda "Blow Out" Upper Penisula "Michigan".

My fan motor had cracked the bolts busted out there too ..

Towed me a dealership shop stayed in a motel afew nights middle of nowhere was just a Dollar General and a Gas Station mile up the road buy afew frozen burritos microwave pizza heat em up in microwave in the room

When they "Drilled" it reassemble a new fan motor went too far that thingy started leaking coolant.

Light load wasnt so bad by Tomah or Mauston Kwik Trip off 90/94 a drop & hook.

Big "Heavy" Load metal castings back there..

From Tomah or Mauston my radiator kept boiling over.

Thankfully was a Truckstop pull into digged in the dumpster filled abuncha jugs with water.

By the "T/A" Madison off 90/94 got sick of having pull-over every 20/30 miles or so pour jugs of water off side of the freeway.

I called em said Ill leave this right here buy me a Grayhound Bus Ticket ya take "Care" of it and figure out.

Please dont "Quit" Son we love ya too sent another one coming north outta Chicago rode with him back down and after that that same truck became a "Yard Spotter" and not Road Worthy but just move trailers across the yard

Pay and "Real" mileage dont ya dare get me started pal.

Now Local jobs & deal be mostly "Time Clock" Hourly pay "Regional" ya get the "Line-Haul" a percentage roughly 1/3 their billing 2 the shipper whatever they agreed upon that itself is "Subject" Negotiation too

Over The Road ya paid "By Mile" and they dont pay "Layover" sitting waiting only when Truck Rolling down the Highway ya actually get "Paid".

There too ya almost pull teeth get extra $50/100 bucks on ya paycheck.

Sorry my "Time" is worth something as well.

If ya dont like those terms call the "Temp Service" next week.

Ya cant because they dont have skills & qulaifications plus "Insurance Companies" and Pee Tests too oh by the way do ya know under Federal "Dot" laws must speak and read  "English"

Atleast in Trucking ya already sort of got ya hooks into them and if they try "Screw" me on my "Paycheck" I know 2 screw them even worse.

And ya just cant find people like me standing infront of Home Depot every morning or a Temp Service

What a nightmare with that water delivery. Yeah imagine the weight and really not much value there compared to the weight you are toting.
Things can go wrong in a big way with THE BIG IRON.
My "Trucking" experience was all with Army "deuce and a half" cargo trucks and the 5 Ton Tractors we used to pull a 40 foot long repair shop on wheels with.
Those trucks were maxxed out at 55 mph and loud as **** inside the cab.
The 5 Ton Tractor could just about do a wheelie if your revved it all the way then dumped the clutch     Image

Freeways actually an "Advancement" but back in the 1970s/1980s the "Activists" cried very loud too.

Really I wish more towns would "sychronize" the Stop-Lights..

Most cities here developed on a grid system okay.

Call me crazy back in the day after dark they would blink the stoplights now "Main-Drag" had the "Right Of Way" Period.

Side street ya sit there watch & wait until it was clear..

Today even at midnight they got ya slamming ya breaks "Hard Stop" for One Car sitting at the Side Street.

Im sorry wait and watch then make ya play

4 way stop signs too..

Everybody pulls up sits there looking at eachother like idiots until one guy gets really mad burns rubber.

Only 2 Way Stop Signs should be allowed because thats a "Basic Understanding".

Stop sign "Stops" & looks the "Main Drag" or State Highway has "The Right Of Way"..

No today we got namby pambys "Incognicenst" folks themselves never ran a highway or even moved far from town just a "College Degree" State University and now working there writing Traffic Policy.

Notice today how many run the "Redlights" infact at green ya sit afew seconds make nobody else coming.

Thats also part of the problem too

How about a basic "understanding" how traffic actually moves the rythym and patteren

Today aint no Cops out there they Busy "On-Call" already ..

Another factor ya must consider as well

Roughly half the people out there today playing with the cell phone aint exactly watching traffic or paying attention.

Government Policy "Traffic Designers" at DOT who never ran down a "Highway" their entire life comes up with "Traffic Calming"

Aint no "Calming" what ya really got now is those crazy people almost on ya tail almost slammed thru ya rear-rend.

First little break in traffic gonna burn rubber & cut almost ya bumper infront of ya too forcing ya slam ya brakes very hard

Today just drive like idiots & morons "naturally" even put bumper stickers back car "Im a Student Driver" or Baby On Board..

Im sorry ya dont know how watch "Traffic" or put ya phone down afew minutes.

Ya shouldnt be "Allowed" a Drivers License and ride the City Bus then

I actually "Wish" we put Jail Sentances on your incompetence threw abuncha of ya in maybe ya learn a Life "Lesson" too.

Unfortunately the Systems so "Over-Whelmed" these days they aint got the time or resources anymore.

So "Understand" on a Drive half them people on a Iphone not actually watching the road
