It seems to me she wanted to coddle veterans. I want them to boot-strap. 

This country was invented by boot-strappers. 

The biggest single item that MY v.a. would give a wounded vet is a pair of decent, resoled used boots. 

Unless they were missing their feet.

Then they could have free legs, with feet, and maybe some chocolates for dudes and flowers for chicks.

The undecided would get a free bullet, delivered very quickly, at a rapid speed,

I would have to count the Congressional Medals of Honor to even remember. 

I don't feel like going through them - the pile is heavy.
