Media bias can rate them high cred all day long, but they're a think tank. That have one job and only one: spin narratives for paying customers.

I guess. So when something is rated high we have to ignore that now, too?
Which apparently means when anyone uses a low rated outlet it could be as good as anyone.

I think that a high rating is certainly worth noting. But so is a high bias rating. CATO has high credibility, AND high bias. Let's look at Atlantic Council:

• Overall, we rate the Atlantic Council Right-Center Biased based on pro-corporate and hawkish military perspectives. We also rate them High for factual reporting due to mostly proper sourcing and a clean fact-check record.

That would depend entirely on whether that biased cleric were trying to send America's homosexual and trans military off to war. 

Everything tends to be situational like that. When someone is clamoring for bombs to drop, we look closer at their politics than we do at their currect credibility with fact checkers.
