• Going into 2025, in the 2024 elections there were 5,807 legislative seats up for election (in 44 states). Of the 7 states to watch for potential chamber partisan control flips, there was only one flip (Michigan), 3 Republican holds (Arizona, New Hampshire,  and Wisconsin), 1 Democratic hold (Pennsylvania), a tie in Minnesota, and a coalition hold in Alaska.
