The U.S. economy added 139,000 news jobs in May, beating expectations for the third month in a row, while the unemployment rate remained unchanged at 4.2 percent, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported Friday morning.
Health care added 62,000 jobs in May, higher than the average monthly gain of 44,000 over the prior 12 months. In May, job gains occurred in hospitals (+30,000), ambulatory health care services (+29,000), and skilled nursing care facilities (+6,000).
Employment in leisure and hospitality continued to trend up in May (+48,000), largely in food services and drinking places (+30,000). Over the prior 12 months, leisure and hospitality had added an average of 20,000 jobs per month.
In May, social assistance employment continued to trend up (+16,000), reflecting continued growth in individual and family services (+16,000). (BLS)

The federal government routinely revises economic data, but it rarely makes a correction as large as it did on Wednesday, when the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported America’s economy created 818,000 fewer jobs than it initially thought over the past year.
The new data comes at a politically consequential moment, as Vice President Kamala Harris tries to ride momentum as Democrats’ new presidential nominee and rewire voters’ perceptions of the Biden administration’s economy.
The phony jobs report they concocted just prior to the last election is no different than how they manipulated their lies just prior to the 2020 election by hiring 51 phony "former intelligence agents" to sign their names to the lie that the FBI had determined that the Hunter laptop was Russian disinformation, (after the FBI had already had it in their possession for a year and had authenticated it as being Hunter's) and use that lie to force Twitter and Facebook to cancel Trump's accounts and paid MILLIONS to them to promote that lie!
