The reader may have picked up that trick from "Day of The Jackal".

You actually think I care enough.

You and @*HooooeyVagina can lock yourselves in a room for a decade, fondle each other and guns, exchange pillow war stories talk and pretend you're being spooned by Pete Hegseth.

"Design" will continue to be singular.....and citations will persist in their hostility to your narrative.

Interestingly, civilian ownership of semi-automatic versions of the AR platform go almost as far back as the military adoption of the system. Colt sold nearly identical versions of the M16 to the public during the Vietnam War generically referred to as the “AR-15 Sporter”. These vintage semi-auto versions of the military M16 are now generally referred to as the “SP1”. The SP1 looked very similar to the M16 but had some small differences in construction, as well as different markings on the receiver. An original Vietnam era SP1 would be as close as legally possible to owning a real M16.

Those were not the AR 15 Sporter.  If they were "Sporter" would have been on the military list.  They were called the Armalite AR 15 and were select fire between semi and auto. Those were not vntage semi auto versions of the M16.

It isn't that nuanced..

It's obviously 3D printed, because no one is going to build a production line to make it.
Look, you had your chance.  I offered it to you first, but Huey put it on the line and took it when you wouldn't.

Yes, it is 3D printed.  That would be one of the more obvious things about this gun; or someone might just guess its a toy.  What I was really interested in is whether you could figure out if it was a 22lr pistol.  But, ok, I would have given you credit for figuring out its 3d printed.

The nuances really were the caliber, recognizing the anti-walk pin retainer (add-on on some custom built AR's), that it is a pistol (as opposed to rifle or NFA gun), that it had an arm brace to side-step the Short-Barreled rule which would require NFA registration.

It's also slightly more advanced for a 3d printed gun. I've been following home-made 3D printed guns since they first came out and studying refinements.

Another entirely arbitrary condition.

Let's refer to the citation in question.

To confirm that we agree to its purpose,
This article describes the many variations of the Colt AR-15 and M16 rifle family of weapons produced by Colt's Manufacturing Company. Weapons patterned on the original ArmaLite AR-15 design
What does the article describe "the many variations of"?

Yes, it is 3D printed.
But I gave you a reason for so believing.

Once we go into "******* **** people will make with a 3D printer" we've ventured into a place I see no compelling reason to go.

That's the difference between you and me.  While you think everyone (who is not you) and anything (that is not yours) is "stupid", I can find nuance and interest in apparently stupid things and even stupid people. After all, when it comes right down to it, the closer you look, the more interesting something becomes.

It's why children play with their poo.

I feel that there a lot of interesting things but not nearly enough time to learn about them all.

Which is why I abandoned poo in my infancy.

But you be you.

I've never actually seen a child play with poo.  However, I will refrain from asking you about your kids, because you always seem to get so offended.
