Sorry, different guy.  You are a life long civilian who knows very little about military.  I guarantee that like most soldiers over the past decades you had no clue who the namesake of the Ft Bragg was until this issue started.  

With that knowledge you need to understand the name Ft Bragg is is etched in military members minds and they did not associate it with anyone or thing other than the 82nd and the Green Berets. Now, they can associate it with one of their own.

And you are against that.  No wonder you served a cubicle.
