The United States are obligated by that treaty. As such, the UN Charter's prohibitions and agreements are LAW OF THE LAND. Would you like to see what it says about bombing folks? It prohibits even the mere THREAT of force against any state's territorial integrity or political independence, except in specific situations like self-defense or when authorized by the UN Security Council. Neither case existed in any hetersexual sense when trump acted as israel's little bitch against iran.
The US is also signatory to the Hague Conventions, which require that hostilities should not begin without prior warning, either through a declaration of war or an ultimatum - no cowardly sneak attacks on countries. Iran was told they had two weeks and then was hit with a surprise attack by a president who acted unilaterally, without congressional approval, in violation of the Hague Conventions and other treaties which form the basis of the "rules based order" (international law) that US politicians like to run their mouths about.
Trump's actions were lawless on many, many levels. AOC is like that broken clock. That is, she's right. But her party is as neocon as the *** repuke party, and it will never dare punish trump for following their master's orders.

What's weird is BeBe had already taken Iran pretty far back in their nuclear art.. There was time to consider the implications. Midnight Hammer began planning in 2009.. Of course I want POTUS to be agile, but when you mix stupidity with it I don't think the war games get played all the way through first. The predictable uncertainty is what we have.. The decision makers also have the advantage of being privy to the latest intel that neither you or me or the Associated Press have.,,
The president needs a way to bypass Congress if he thinks that we need to take immediate action no matter how many treaties are in place.
Argue all you want about how you think this emergency system is being abused but the fact remains that The President in every instance gets to make an opinion based decision to act preemptively instead of being forced to wait until he sees enemy missiles flying at us.
