OK, third round at this calculation. Yes I was off by an order of magnitude yesterday.  I had 14700 gigatons

Humanity burns 1.47 trillion gallons of liquid hydrocarbons a year. That's 181 gallons each for 8.1 Billion souls.  It sounds a reasonable number.

A gallon of gasoline weighs 6.8 lbs. When combusted 20 lbs of CO2 is produced,

1.47 trillion gal/yr*20 lbs co2/gal = 29.4 trillion pounds of CO2/yr. -13.3 Gigatons

Volcanoes make 1 GT a year on an active year. Forest Fires make 2 GT a year.

Anyone who denies anthropogenic effects on climate is a fool. There would be no Oxygen in the air if photosynthesis by plant life hadn't  occured. Humans are changing the balance. We crossed 400 PPM CO2 in the atmosphere in 2010 after Mother Nature had it regulated to under that for 800,000 years. Today we are at 430 ppm and climbing, we increased 30ppm in 15 years. CO2 absorbs infrared radiation, more of it in the air, more heat absorption. The industrial revolution coincided with the increased slope.

The norm has been well under 400 ppm for 800,000 years.   Bubbles trapped in ice have confirmed it.

ROG, I highly recommend we pursue bio fuels ASAP.. The dinosaur fuel will run out eventually anyway.  If we trapped carbon in our fuel for release on combustion we can work towards net zero. We actually have a system built for Canada that they defaulted on in the trade war.  I wonder if there is a way that Maryland could pilot the way to zero emmision farming.  That would put a significant dent in the problem if achieved. Cars are a drop iin the bucket. Agriculturres carbon footprint is a Sasquatch.

Trumpocalaypse has the world on a net zero course to an ugliness that only Tesla could imagine.

The calculation above does not include natural gas combustion.  Just petrol alone is 4  times more emmisions than volcanoes and forest fires. Forest fires increase as temp goes up.. double whammy number one.  Then all the methane trapped in the thawing permafrost joins the mix.
 
We are making Earth into Venus at a rapid rate.  Many say we are already paast many tipping points.  The Ocean is fully saturated with heat now.  We are losing the heat sink and cooling pumps. Ocean currents are changing.

bio fuels are another ruse...

what good does it do when when vehicle fuel efficiency drops 10-50%? ethanol is produced by diesel tractors, dried by propane heat and shipped via diesel trucks, trains and ships...all the while jacking up the price of corn which is a pretty big food staple...
