it's an 8' wheel with a cast iron head...the vane by itself is a struggle to handle...

I have used a telescoping boom lift for football stadium light fixture maintenance.
I ended up sinking the tires of that 60 foot "Sun Belt" lift into wet ground that was hidden beneath what looked like solid ground on the surface.
The High School was very understanding and they used their janitors, coaches and the football players to repair the ruts after I was done.
I imagine you'll be trying to "dock" some sort of slip fit / drop in arrangement where the fan unit pivots atop the tower...?

I just had the driveway asphalted which runs within 10' of the tower...so hoping this fall as I still need the graphics on the vane...
Oh yeah, there's a 2" x 30" threaded pipe screwed into the bottom of the head which goes through a casting at the top and is stabilized with another 2' down....
Here's the bushings I had to machine due to wear in the castings that will keep the thrust bearing from slopping about...
The thrust bearing is inverted with the tower cap casting on it...

About all a guy can do...the machine's 90-110 years old...obviously no parts available other than the main bearings and vane springs...and my foundry's still in the 'thought about only for a moment' stage...

Biden unleashed Fracking for LNG after COVID. Plans were for 50 GT a year production in the coming years. He did pause it at 28GT by executive order after everyone had done the engineering for the scale up and Jennifer Graholm reminded him of the Carbon Foortprint. we were at 12 GT a year prior to COVID. My employer has 3 Billion in contracts to get the gas down to -240 deg f liquid. I am privy to Global Town Halls and see the imagery of the biz.
