Once the guy with the knife started to back away he was "retreating" and the guy with the gun was not under threat of imminent severe injury or death.

My logic is that, like the Colt AR-15, it was designed and optimized for combat.

Accordingly, they are inappropriate for civilian use.

Sir, if you wish to call me REMF, and more importantly, have it have some kind of meaning, I suggest you post your 3 of years of service, the date you graduted Basic, AIT and how many deployments you were on.

With respect, it does not get anymore REMFY than a civilian exercising options in a cubicle OR deciding he would ROTC if drafted.
