I miss Carson, the old Letterman on NBC, and Leno.  I also liked Craig Ferguson a few years back. They made fun of everyone, did not preach to us, and we did not know their political leanings.

Leno put it best in a FOX interview the other day.  If it was funny, you did the joke.

There was also a quote and I am probably screwing it up but it was from one of the big 3 I mentioned.   It was something to the effect one told a joke and the republicans called and complained and then the democrats called and complained as well.  He finished by saying that means he was doing his job.

Yep...as long as the jokes had an element of truth.  As Rush Limbaugh said, and I agree with him, "all good humor has an element of truth".        

I miss the old boys too...especially Leno.   He is a natural.

These shows, like comedians, have to pick on everyone to be a success...go after both or neither which is why the shows you mentioned were successful...
