That's true.  After living thru the Cold War in the 60s, 70s and 80s, and with the first 6 plus years of my military career spent during the til end of the Cold War (83-89} I don't get this wrapped up over this kinda stuff.

I remember nuclear drills in school and building with the radiation symbol and a sign that said bomb shelter.  Boy, were we dumb.

Sir, last I checked Sweden was  not only NOT a world dominating military power they also were not targeted by either the US or the Soviet Union.

Sir, due to my experienced I am much more competent with maps than you are.  That is not an answer to the question.  But, you have shown that you are suffering cognitive decline due to your episode a few minutes ago on the ammo thread.  Not sure if posting with you is really a good thing to do.

Now back to serious discussion. Yeah, it is possible Sweden was targeted but the problem with that line of thought is the Nordic Region holds too much strategic value. If anyone looks at a map you will see it's value to both the West and the USSR. It is ike the DMZ in Korea, a buffer between the east and west. Whoever controls it probably controls the war.
