The lowest recorded approval rating for a US president in history, according to Gallup's tracking, belongs to Harry S. Truman, who registered a 22% job approval rating in a survey conducted in February 1952.
For additional context, several other presidents have also experienced significant lows in their approval ratings:
Richard Nixon reached a 24% approval rating shortly before his resignation in August 1974.
George W. Bush saw his approval rating drop to 25% in the final months of his second term in late 2008.
