But democracy is supposed to be about people, not places. A “county count” system treats a county with 200 people the same as one with 2 million. That’s not giving everyone a voice, it’s giving land a voice.

And I would say a farmer with 300 acres of land should have more say than a welfare rat in a big city ghetto.

Actually, it's a more accurate barometer of the entire country's sentiment. Why should the sardines attracted to the urban blight have any more say than the people in rural counties...you say it's less democratic, I say its more.

But the difference is the 200 people who live in a rural area have much different concerns than the 2 million in the urban area.  Rural has less streets, no need for public transportation, infrastructure needs are much different, etc etc etc.  Son, you are giving voice to the people.

Yes, that's why I support the electoral. It gives more of an accurate representation of the people. It's not perfect, but it is better than the popular vote.

Good point.  Well, I don't know. Neither system is perfect. We just need to go with the one that logically reflects the will of the will of the people more.

This is making me think....if we have consider a system where we believe 'one person, one vote' then this is relevant. 

Take two people, each with one vote. 

Person A: Welfare rat. Takes more from the system than puts in. 
Person B: Farmer with 300 acres: Puts more into the system than takes out.

Hmmmmmm.....it doesn't seem fair that both votes are equal. Interesting point.

It's outdated.  Why should Vermont and Montana's votes count for three of every Texan and Californian's?

 I am for multi party votes, open primaries, and rank choice voting.  Like Israel that Bebe was able to hack for thirty years.
