It's not just that. It's where the measurements are taken. If you had a thermometer station five miles out of Boston or Houston or Chicago in the middle of a forest in 1880, where do you suppose that station is today? How many trees are shading it today? It's not even in the burbs. It's in what is now the city center.

The feasibility of measuring the average temperature of earth even today is highly questionable. It's mostly consensus-forged balderdash - not hard math. The narrative depends for its lifeblood on the illiteracy of its target audience. And the democrats reward the narrative-purveyors in spades.

Refigeration skids monitor the CO2 PPM in the engine rooms.  They are largely dirven by ambient atmosphere concentrations.  Averaging them globally and removing anomolous data ike leaks could provide a daily pitcure of the global concentration. 

I think Trump 1.0 shut down the Mauna Loa CO2 measurement facility. Project 2025 specifically uses verbage there is no climate crisis and they will not allow discussion of weather events. The stupididity is mind boggling.  How hard is it to keep a global network of thermometers and monitor global temeratures?  Satellites are getting defunded, science is getting shut down.   I am concerned about the ability to predict landfall of hurricanes. Climate related emergencies are happening more frequently.  The Texas Floods killed a lot of kids, of course in conjunction that the camps were profitable and the greed kicked in despite warnings it could happen.  Texas is more concerned about rigging the 2026 election and throwing democrats in jail and forcing them to vote.

You showed the graph.  It does seem you at least agree that man has taken the carbon emmisions from under 400 ppm for 800,000 years and that humans emit 32 GT a year and Volcanoes and Forest Fires emit 3GT.  It seems to me you just think everything will be ok, in contrast to accepted mainstream research by people who actually devote a career to the subject. I did take a course in college on Atmospheric Pollution, I still have the text book.  We are just internet yahoos after all.

Exponential spike in concentration.  It's gone from 350 to 430 ppm in my lifetime and climbing.   Average Global Temp went from  -1 deg C to +1 deg C in the same time frame.  I am a 2 C'r..

I anticipate if I get 20 more orbits, I will see 510 PPM and I will be a 4 C'r..

No one argued about C02 concentrations. The issue was temperature claims - which are refuted by the people making such claims being caught in lies.

800,000 years is a lie - it's 600,000. And unless you are talking at LEAST several millions, you're bitching about the irrelevant blink of an eye. 

How it got to 400ppm is not as simplistic as your view. Ocean currents can change and create or destroy and enormous carbon sinks without humankind having any say - or even any understanding - in the matter. There are a million different "butterfly effects" that we know nothing about. What we DO know is that the earth's atmosphere appears to be very dynamic and very dedicated to maintaining a particular balance. The real issue between us is that you want to see C02 reduced, and I want to see it at 600ppm.

There are fruits and vegetables in your home right now that were grown in carbon enriched environments, because the natural outside atmospher is anemic compared to their needs. Oh, they can survive and fruit at 400ppm - even 300. But to thrive and produce bountifully, they need about 600ppm. And at that concentration, all of nature will produce in such abundance that we will see new species arise, old species re-emerge, endangered species get back their purchase on survival.

I don't think scientists make stuff up all the time.   They can skew a result to make money just like any other greedy bastard capitialist. But for the most part they look for factual support of their claims.

The average global air temperature is calculated by combining temperature data from numerous weather stations and ocean buoys around the world, then accounting for variations in location and time. Scientists analyze temperature anomalies (departures from the long-term average) across a grid of the Earth and average these to determine overall trends.
