And now the mania..

No....I don't want to drive an SUV. I would like space for my dog (s), golf clubs and skis....you know, things for which you don't have the T.

Because I BUY, I let someone else take the haircut...then I drive it til it is pronounced dead.

Go find me a 2025 Alltrack.

It is going to be difficult to find a 2025 Golf Alltrack when they stopped making it in 2019.

Volkswagen Golf Alltrack and Sportwagen to end production in 2019Jul 17, 2019

Tried dealers, but they're such greasy bastards that you'd rather pay Carvana a premium to avoid them.

But dealing with Carvana sucks...and they sent me a car with a cam shaft timing problem....

So I find one on Carmax, for $2 grand more...putting me about 5k over my original budget...

You have to pay Carmax to bring the car to a location near you...350 to bring it to NH from Md.  Took 2 weeks.

It is supposed to go through a state inspection and final quality check...

I get a call yesterday.

"We can't sell you the car. We've lost the title. It will take 4 weeks, or more, to replace it."

I ask
"You gotta find the original owner?"

"Yes. But when we get the assignment, we ask the customer to fill out a duplicate, in case we lose the original."

"Great. So where's the duplicate?"

"It's in the packet with the original."

I take a moment to compose myself.

"Seriously?"

"Yea...we couldn't figure out a place to keep them."

Which scenario is an example of survivorship bias in evaluating business success?

A) Believing that reading business books increases revenue after finding many CEOs recommend them.
B) Concluding that most startups fail after analyzing bankrupt companies.
C) Thinking entrepreneurship is easy because most media profiles focus on successful founders.
D) Surveying customers to understand why they chose your product over competitors
