As a layperson, I can only see what was a "**** me, I'm America" type open invitation to the world.
So trying to close down the whole thing as a first step may be a bit painful but perhaps not permanent.

Obviously the tariffs have a on/off switch. We've seen that already.

That's my admittedly naive yet hopeful view. Maybe it shakes some of the bugs out of the woodwork.
Temporarily "brutal" to everyone to show the real targets we ain't ****' around...

The news of our impending death from abuse was always greatly exaggerated. I did not favor tariffs because I bought into the claim that we are victims - as in AMERICA is a victim. I favored tariffs because American WORKERS were getting ****. 

The tariffs under discussion **** American workers harder - and without any upside for them at all. They are a regressive TAX HIKE - nothing else.

I just shopped. Oranges - medium sized, nothing special oranges - were a buck apiece. And it's not about to get better any time soon.

Property Tax: Up 800$ A Year. Homeowners Insurance: Up 600$ a Year with another one to follw in claim for All Hail Breaks Loose damage.  Car Insurance: Up 600$ a year.   Car Registration was 172$ for two years, this time it was 130$ for one year with optiion to buy three years at that rate (that the rich can afford).

I am going to vote in the Democratic Primary.  It is my duty as a citizen to try and stop  Governor Wes Moore (D) from getting advanced to a second term in the Greatly Taxed State of Maryland with my vote.  If the guy becomes the next Obama there will be no curbing the enthusiam for the Betty and Wilma "Charge It" liberals.   What's Ironic is that Trumpoopoolips has ripped off Americans more adeptly than Democrats.

BUY AMERICAN and there is ZERO "tax" as you call it. Even though it's a TARIFF, you seem to be massively confused. 

The ENTIRE premise behind tariffs is to keep AMERICAN WORKERS working making AMERICAN products. Instead of supporting some $.10 an hour slave labor nation, we support OUR OWN nation.

90% of our avocados are imported, stupid. There are no "Americvan" to buy.

The 10% grown in California are mostly converted to high quality avocado oil.

Literally 99% of America';s coffee is imported. The 1% that is domestic is high quality, expensive, and hard to find. It goes fast.

Going from 22 to 28 will only affect middle class wage earners. The wealthy are not taxed on income, by and large. They're taxed on cap gains if they are taxed at all. So it's just more of the reagan-clinton democrat party's assault on the middle class.

So, EVERYBODY needs to use a little common sense and walk it off and give coach 110% next time and tell their story walking and take their malarky on the hop.

And TAXES are calculated into the FINAL PRICE. A BUSINESS without EARNINGS and PROFIT is bankrupt. Seems you don't know that simple part. And TAXATION can drive ANY business into bankruptcy BECAUSE they price themselves out of the market where they can't sell their products. I have ZERO issue in bankrupting FOREIGN Business and watching US BASED ONES THRIVE!!
