Are you sure that's not 700$ a week?  350K a year seems a huge investment into every grunt on a utlity job.  Is it for Mormons?  I guess they are rich and can afford 400$ a killowatt hour.  35K a year sounds more like apprentice electrician wages and about what a high school graduate can scrape by on this day and age Much less and they need some help.

This is not your typical apprentice type position, he's just doing the work of one. The subs on these type of projects make big bucks and pay well as they are on a deadline. It's not a permanent position. After growing up in the ghetto of Denver, he just wanted to see a bit of the country. He will eventually go back to Denver and sign onto a registered apprentice program.

The best part of this story, he was an unwanted baby born out side of Chihuahua Mexico.
