You claim it's "impossible" to call it an EV, and yet Toyota advertises it as a PHEV, an acronym for a PLUG-IN HYBRID ELECTRIC VEHICLE?
I've attached several of Toyota's ads calling it that, along with a description THEY publish explaining how THEIR EV option works, so don't be so stupid to claim that "Toyota doesn't sell it as an EV car"!

Who the hell elected YOU to tell Toyota what they can't call THEIR car?

EV mode is good for ten minutes in a parking lot. It can be handy if ya run your prius out of gas. 

The fact that it has an ev MODE does not make the Prius an ev.

It's not a plug in, loud gay fruit. You don't plug it in because it's not an EV.

EVs are plugged in - hybrids run on gas.

What's cool is there is supposed to be away the Prius can also be a stationary generator. You can plug your house into it!
 
Yeah the EV push is not good policy and a drop in the bucket in reducing the 35GT.  I won't disagree they may have a positive emissions coefficient. Steaks cause a lot of emissions too. Especially the well done one with ketchup.

EVs run on 60% so-called fossil fuels (I do not concede that oil and coal are fossils). Over 16% of those "fossil" fuels are beautiful clean coal (sargasm). 

That's dirty. Then there's 20% nuclear - which I tend to favor over the silly stuff like bird-sluicing wind and crop-replacing solar. 

So, that's what powers EVs - 60% fossil fuels, over a quarter of which is coal, 20% nuclear, and 20% retard spittle like wind and solar.

By itself, that doesn't SEEM to play into the anti-science agenda of the left. Then add the pollution generated from stealing, mining, refining, and transporting those rare earth minerals. And let's not even TALK about the hazmat left behind when the useful life of those batteries is gone. 

When you say the EV push is "not good policy", you are understating the situation by a country mile. It's a **** grift, dude. There are BILLIONS at play, FFS. It's a grift. It's BEEN a grift. It was a grift from soup to nuts. Google **** Solyndra. **** that - just google "Obama energy grift" - that'll get ya to the adult reality of so-called "green" energy. 

FDR left this country an immaculate grid that we need only have maintained and updated - the heavy lifting was done. And our "leaders" have deferred maintenance and overloaded it to the point that it is rickety and NOT first world. And what did youse do? Youse chirped to overload the **** thing with EVs whilst at the same time fighting tooth and nail against new hydro and insisting on intermittent and extremely dirty alternatives like wind and solar. 

The solar panels are pure pollution and those **** wind turbines? They cost more to make and move in both dollars and pollution than they generate in "clean" electric - and that's BEFORE we dispose of them at the end of their life cycles.

The Subaru is a separate make from Toyota. And it gets the highest scores in safety, reliability, maintenance costs, resale value - you name it, - from Consumer Reports. 

I'm driving a 25 Subaru right now, and the **** thing steers itself. I would take over, but it's a better driver.
