What impact does any of this really have?

no other president ever demanded the states give him more seats.

the impact is that a person who thinks a mass murderer is a great guy will be in charge of everything including hospitals. a president who took away food from american children. a person who is as evil as netnayu. that is the impact.

Holder, who led the Justice Department under former President Barack Obama, now runs the National Democratic Redistricting Committee, which has long pushed for fundamental changes to the map-drawing process. He told Welker that his party’s answer to Republican gerrymandering will be “responsive” and “temporary.”And it won’t be based on the whims of the party leader.“When Barack Obama was president, when Joe Biden was president, did either of those presidents call a governor of a state or a state legislature and tell them to gerrymander to find five seats for them? No,” Holder said. “So we’re doing something now that is responsive to what is going on with this White House.”Holder said the president’s actions in Texas reminded him of another famous phone call, between Trump and Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger on Jan. 2, 2021.“That call to Texas is kind of reminiscent of the call that President Trump made to the secretary of state in Georgia,” Holder told Welker. “He said, ‘Find me 11,780 votes.’ He calls Texas now and says, ‘Well, find me five seats so that we can save the House in 2026.’”
Thank You Copilot....

No Evidence of Improper Presidential Involvement
Holder suggests that President Trump directly called Texas officials to demand five congressional seats. However:
  • There is no publicly verified transcript or recording of such a call, unlike the Raffensperger call which was documented.
  • The claim appears to be based on political inference, not hard evidence. Without proof, it remains speculative and rhetorical.
2. Redistricting Is a State-Led Process
  • Redistricting is constitutionally delegated to state legislatures, not the federal executive branch.
  • Governors like Greg Abbott have the authority to call special sessions, and legislatures can redraw maps mid-decade if they choose. This is not illegal or unprecedented.
3. Democrats Have Engaged in Aggressive Redistricting Too
  • States like New York and Illinois, under Democratic control, have redrawn maps to favor their party. In New York, the post-2022 redistricting endangered multiple Republican seats.
  • California’s governor even proposed retaliatory redistricting in response to Texas’s actions—which undermines Holder’s claim that Democrats are merely “responsive” and “temporary.”
4. Holder’s Framing Is Politically Motivated
  • Holder chairs the National Democratic Redistricting Committee, whose mission is to counter Republican map-drawing. His statements are part of a broader political strategy, not neutral legal analysis.
  • His comparison to the Georgia call is emotionally charged but lacks factual parity. The Georgia call involved vote counting, not legislative redistricting.
5. Redistricting Is Legal, Even If Politically Charged
  • Gerrymandering is controversial, but not inherently illegal unless it violates the Voting Rights Act or constitutional protections.
  • Both parties have historically used redistricting to their advantage. The real issue is reforming the system—not selectively condemning one side.

Following his January 2025 inauguration, Donald Trump has reportedly called Texas Governor Greg Abbott on several occasions regarding key policy issues and to rally support for Republican initiatives. These calls have primarily focused on congressional redistricting, school choice, and border security.
Congressional redistricting
  • Encouraging involvement: In July 2025, Trump called Abbott to urge him to put congressional redistricting on the agenda for a special session of the Texas legislature.
  • Overcoming reluctance: The call came after Abbott and some Texas Republicans initially resisted taking up the issue for fear it would pit them against the congressional delegation. Trump's influence helped change Abbott's min

The Hypocrisy Is LoudHolder claims Democrats are merely “responsive” and “temporary” in their redistricting efforts. Really? Tell that to voters in:
  • New York, where Democrats tried to gerrymander Republicans into oblivion until the courts stepped in.
  • Maryland, where maps were so skewed they had to be redrawn.
  • Illinois, where GOP districts were sliced and diced with surgical precision.
This isn’t “responsive”—it’s ruthless. And it’s been happening for years.

Gerrymandering may be ugly, but it’s not illegal. States have the right to redraw maps. If Democrats don’t like it, they should win more state legislatures :faint: not cry foul when Republicans play the same game.

This Is a Democrat-Led Power Grab—Not a Trump Fallout

Proposition 50 is a Democratic initiative, pushed by Governor Gavin Newsom and the California Legislature to override the independent redistricting commission and install a map that benefits their party. Blaming Trump for California Democrats’ decision to redraw maps is like blaming the weather for a house fire started with a match.
  • Newsom himself admitted this was a retaliatory move against Texas, where Republicans redrew maps to gain seats.
  • The proposed California map would likely flip five GOP-held seatsnot because of Trump, but because Democrats are using their legislative muscle to rewrite the rules.

I love when people believe in themselves so much that they think they can read minds.

The double-edge sword is:
1) You can't.
2) You continue to think you know bad from good and good from bad.
