Proposition 50 is a Democratic initiative, pushed by Governor Gavin Newsom and the California Legislature to override the independent redistricting commission and install a map that benefits their party. Blaming Trump for California Democrats’ decision to redraw maps is like blaming the weather for a house fire started with a match.

• Newsom himself admitted this was a retaliatory move against Texas, where Republicans redrew maps to gain seats.
• The proposed California map would likely flip five GOP-held seats—not because of Trump, but because Democrats are using their legislative muscle to rewrite the rules.

California's republicans are already under-represented.

Just to explain the math to you, California republicans hold 17% of congressional seats - though they are 25.2% of voters.

Texas democrats hold 34% of congressional seats. Texans don't register party affiliation, which is why dems perpetually jackoff that Texas could turn blue. 

IF TEXAS DID - IT WON'T, YOU'RE BEING TRAUMATIZED BY PROPAGANDA; BUT IF IT DID - take five house seats away from dems, it would leave them with 8 of 38, or 21%. Which is more than Cali repubs have.

They're not chasing down democrats and beating them up - as happened in California at Trump rallies, while police watched and did nothing.
