You can donate plasma most cities of any size have a plasma donation center like Grifols or Bio-Life and many smaller outfits as well.

How they pay you its called a gift or reward for your time but never call it a payment.

Going rate is 50 dollars 1st donation and if ya go twice in the same week 65 for 2nd so about $115 a week.

As a new donor give ya $80 or a $100 the first 4/5 donations whatever their policy.

This one down in Waukegan defered me for high liver enzymes but thats worn off every week send me emails offering a $100 bucks come back but I get light headed and sleepy these days after that and I cant really do it anymore..

I've done it many times. After I wrote off the red cross - there were reasons besides the tainted blood pool they were pouring my golden nectar into, - I was bitter because my Grandmother raised me to donate blood regularly. She did it, and it feels like a duty. So I axed Siri if there was a plasma donation center nearby, and there was. They gave me a hundred bucks! Then they gave me a hundred more bucks, every time I donated. And it was a **** a lot easier and less gross than giving platelets. Ya give platelets, ya gotta give 'em BOTH arms, and the needle is YUGE, and the return is room temp. Very creepy.

Yeah, I don't mind giving blood, but I suspect that giving plasma beats your body up a bit. I never felt it, but I researched it and I remember there was definitely some downside. Can't remember what it was...

Whole blood ya can only donate once in awhile but Plasma is the blood protein or the clear part.

The machine separates it like a cetrifuge and they only keep the clear part and pump the red stuff back into ya thats why you can donate twice a week because they dont keep the platelets.

That said you can expirience a clot during the process and not get the return in that case you will be issued a deferral for a month or so before they can let ya come back.

I used to go all the time easy extra cash but as Ive gotten older and my health has declined I just cant do it anymore I get all dizzy and lightheaded last time made me sit in the waiting room an hour afterwards and they kept handing me little bottles of gatorade until I could not drink anymore

I went in hydrated and operating at my peak, with a ph balance of 7.1 as measured by my saliva. At the time I was donating, my doctor told me I had the blood pressure of an astronaut. He was astonished by it.

I attribute it to fasting. I was doing 9 day water fasts pretty regular at the time, and I was intermittent fasting in between. I don'tplan to do it ever again, because one of my boys in the hood was looking at it for the cash but he was a competetive athlete - and they told him no **** way you will lose your edge.

In the screening sometimes either my iron or protein level would be too low and they turn ya away for that day so the day before Id get a protein shake with all the vitamins too and then Id pass the finger stick test.

And dont go if ya been drinking I did that once went the next day and I passed out on the floor.
