But let me just say, and I say this as a sober person who doesn't use deodorant and doesn't believe in any of that stuff-I don't take any pills, ever.You don't have to be as crazy as I am to wonder: what does an SSRI do? We've been taught, falsely, that they correct a chemical imbalance. OK, if it's an imbalance, what's the baseline? There's no answer to that. What's the actual diagnosis of, say, bipolar disorder? Unknown. There is none. So on the basis of-that's not science at all, that's witchcraft. It's a questionnaire.But on the basis of it, they prescribe drugs that do not correct a chemical imbalance. They limit emotional range. And limiting emotional range is taking someone's soul. Emotional range is your soul. That's what it is. You feel sad when someone dies, you feel joyful when something great happens-that's what it is to be alive. That's called the human experience.By the way, the effects-unintended but very common-include genital amnesia. You know what that is? That's when you feel nothing between your knees and your navel permanently. And there are tens of thousands, probably hundreds of thousands-because 20% of the American population is on SSRIs-who feel nothing, who are permanently sexually disabled by these drugs.Now, are there people you or I know personally who were going to kill themselves, and they got on an SSRI and they didn't? That's a massive success. Thank God for that.But there is no indication, ever, for prescribing an SSRI for five years, ten years. Same with benzos, which are also prescribed. Same with amphetamines that we give to our children. The whole country is addled on drugs, and it's changing the nature of people and making them into something less than people. It should be banned immediately.And good people are doing it. People I know, that I'm related to, who would die for their children, are told by doctors-air quotes "doctors," who know nothing about the long-term effects because they've never been studied-to put their kids on meth. And they do, because they love their children.

Sometimes Carlson is spot on with things and sometimes he is off the mark by miles...like here. He is wrong.

He’s partly right that the “imbalance” story is outdated, but it is lame and ignorant to refer to it as “witchcraft.” The drugs’ effects are measurable, and large clinical trials confirm that SSRIs help many people with depression. I have seen these measurable effects professionally and with family. It's not perfect. Nobody, including the drug companies, ever claimed that it was a cure. These meds are treatments. They don't have a cure for depression or bipolar because it's cause is due to social effects as well as medical. He is oversimplifying depression. Diagnosis in psychiatry is imperfect, but it’s not random or arbitrary.

In fact, I'll give you an example. Many moons ago , I worked with mentally ill people in the jail. People diagnosed with bipolar used meth on the streets, because get this....meth actually calmed them down and made them stable. For normal brains, meth wires you up. It sends 120 watts to your 50 watt neurons. Yet, in patients diagnosed with Bipolar, their brain responded with the oppesite effect. It calms them down. 

The point is that there are brains that have chemical imbalances that lead to depression, bipolar, and ADD.

I'm just saying it's considered an epidemic suddenly. In a few short years has the meth problem caused this?
Am I seeing people claiming every mood swing is a clinical problem?
Is it just Americans or is the world 50% mentally unstable people?

Hypochondriacs, Munchausen Syndrome, crybabies, etc. AND some willing doctors is all it would take.

Just like trannies. Homos have been around forever but now we "can do something about it".
Consequently, we get "body dysphoria" claims by the hundreds or even thousands.
