Why is Jimmy Kimmel leaving his show?
The sudden decision made by ABC to pull the show from air came hours after Federal Communications Commission Chair Brendan Carr said on a podcast that the FCC could move to revoke ABC affiliate licenses as a way to force Disney, ABC's parent company, to punish Kimmel for recent comments he made about reaction

• Dana Walden: Co-Chairman of Disney Entertainment

• Kimmel made controversial remarks about the death of right-wing activist Charlie Kirk, which drew backlash from conservative viewers and political figures.
• FCC Chairman Brendan Carr criticized Kimmel’s comments as “some of the sickest conduct possible” and hinted at potential consequences for ABC’s broadcast license.
• Nexstar Media, which owns over 200 local stations, announced it would stop airing the show “for the foreseeable future,” adding pressure on Disney.

So, let's recap the Ignorance here...shall we.

3.  I don't believe he was fired for saying that.  Nexstar, a major owner of local ABC affiliates, first said they were suspending his show. ABC followed.  Now Nexstar, the largest local tv station owner in the nation, is in a merger/takeover with another large owner.   This merger needs FCC approval.

So a lack of ratings, promoting a false narrative DURING A TIME when a huge merger is happening is not the right time to say these things.
