There's some **** in your claim. The 06 bullet did not kill the deer, lodged just beneath ths skin. I was skinning a deer that my brother in law shot with a 30-06. I found a fully intact bullet lodged just under the skin.
Maybe these guys are on to something...I don't know. But the video proved little if anything.
How the bullet got lodged under the skin is a mystery - perhaps it traveled from his shoulder to his haunch where you found it, but even that seems unlikely. Here's what DIDN'T happen. An aught six bullet DIDN'T traverse the dermis and get stopped by a deer's muscle. That did not happen.
There are plenty of grizzlies and elephants who died from the 30 06. It'll go RIGHT THROUGH a javelina hog, making an exit wound you can put both of your fists into. It would have blown Charlies head off his neck. It would have been hanging by flesh remnants.
