rallies do not change things automatically.

who ever told you that?
I'm not asking what they've changed, because we KNOW that nothing has, and yet you call it a success.
What I'm asking is what did you EXPECT it would change!
Do you not understand the difference?

here is an explanation by someone who went to a rally.
----------------------------------------

“It seems to me, (Trump is) taking our government, our democracy, and dismantling it piece by piece, slowly, but surely, if we sit by and don’t do anything about it,” Cole said. The event was one of more than 2,700 “No Kings” rallies held across the country on Saturday, protesting what organizers describe as President Donald Trump’s “authoritarian” agenda. That’s hundreds more events than were planned for the first go-round in June, when about 5 million people across the country took to the streets to protest Trump’s administration as he held a military parade in Washington.Nearly 7 million people showed up for Saturday’s rallies – including more than 100,000 people in New York, organizers and officials said. Along with larger events in major cities, small pockets of “No Kings” protesters cropped up along busy thoroughfares, in small town squares and at municipal parks in red and blue states alike.
Are you serious???
You accuse ME of trying to alter reality and then you post the idiotic muse of a person who attended it who believes that our government and democracy is being dismantled?  Of course they can't be bothered to produce even a scrap of evidence to believe that, and fools like you seem to think it confirms something great that it has really accomplished!

You're living in a fairy tale world, and reality is laughing in your face over it!

what most "power to the People" Progressives have know idea what progressivism even is

it the rich, the well connect and powerful securing power over everyone else

who funds progressivism?

the rich and the powerful.

used to be the big industrialists and bankers like ford....edison....

the universities and great thinkers...funded by the big industrialists

now....it's big tech and the globalist financiers

and guess who....educators from the top down

why?

to secure power over everyone else

check out who leads us into temptation and wars....lots of wars....surprise...it's progressives again

America is experiencing Part 2 of progressivisms attempted rise

Sounds great at first

but it's not like it sounds once you get to experience it

Adolph Hitler was a huge fan of American Progressivism and actually modeled Nazism closely to American progressivism

fueled by useful idiots to help the powerful nail themselves to a cross of their own making

Plenty, if it was ever taken seriously!
Trump could have decided to stop sending National Guard troops to fight crime in cities like Chicago, LA, Portland, and San Francisco, or he could acquiesce to their demands and ordered ICE to remove their masks.  Or go even further and said he won't send troops to fight crime in any additional cities, or recall some of the troops he sent to other cities where the crackdown has already had great success.

But no, NOTHING CHANGED, yet you seem to somehow think it was a great success when they didn't accomplish a damn thing!  That's the kind of warped perspective that liberals have!  You stupidly think that, "THIS will show him!", you pat yourself on the back and wait for the NEXT nothing burger that appeals to you.

By restricting courts’ authority, the House bill threatened the power of the judicial branch. On its own, that represented an attack on the rule of law and the separation of powers that underlies our democracy. But in the context of the political moment, a more specific goal was unfortunately clear.  If enacted, this proposal could have helped the Trump administration try to evade nearly 200 judicial rulings that have already halted its activities, including a preliminary injunction sought by CLC that halted Trump’s unconstitutional attempt to change the rules for federal elections.  In response to many of these rulings, the president has resisted compliance and waged intimidation campaigns targeting the judges responsible. And in light of all this, the House bill seemed squarely and unacceptably focused on shielding the Trump administration from accountability when it breaks the law. After the reconciliation bill passed the House, the Senate revised it. The updated text appeared to respond to criticism from CLC and the public, as it removed the language that would have retroactively undermined existing court decisions. However, the Senate’s proposed changes could have made it even harder for future cases to hold government officials accountable.  Specifically, the modified provision would have required anyone suing the government to pay a bond before they could secure judicial orders halting illegal actions, and that bond would have had to match the government’s claimed losses.  Depending on the case, this could be millions or billions of dollars.Under this policy, everyday Americans would have inevitably faced major financial barriers to justice, discouraging lawsuits and effectively insulating the government from most legal challenges.

Trump has argued that he cannot be prosecuted for actions taken during his presidency. He suggests that the Constitution granted American presidents similar powers and immunities to the British king, a claim disputed by historical and legal experts.

  • Philadelphia and St. Louis were both hit by the flu outbreak of 1918-19, but one city suffered a death rate of approximately 358 per 100,000 people, whereas the other suffered 748 deaths per 100,000.
  • 1918 was a very different time from today, but there are still lessons that we can draw from how Philadelphia's slow action to respond to the pandemic left its citizens dangerously vulnerable.
  • We spoke with a social epidemiologist who said that policymakers should prolong social distancing measures or else suffer St. Louis's mistake of lifting them too early and enduring a second wave of infection and death.
  • Visit Business Insider's homepage for more stories.
On September 28, the city of Philadelphia hosted its "Liberty Loan" parade in the midst of the flu outbreak of 1918-19 — sometimes referred to as the Spanish flu. Shortly thereafter, hospitals were at capacity and 2,600 people had died.Around the same time, the city of St. Louis was closing schools, libraries, courthouses, churches, playgrounds as well as limiting the number of people on streetcars and staggering work shifts to minimize contact. Eventually, Philadelphia followed suit. But according to a study published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, it was just two days — from October 5 to October 7 — between when the first cases showed up in St. Louis to closures being enacted.
Cherry-picked tripe used to feed the world view of midwits.^

There is COPIOUS peer reviewed science which demonstrates that the spanish flu was not the killer. Masking was the killer.

I have read the science - it is available to you on pubmed, if you wish to fact check me. I am going to put this into terms that even a midwit can understand.

When you breathe, you inhale WHATEVER IS IN THE AIR: particulate matter, bacteria, archaea, fungi, protozoa, viruses; whatever is in the air. Then you exhale it.

When you don a mask, the humidity of your exhalations very rapidly forms a vapor barrier which easily traps the effluent of your exhalations such that you re-inhale them with each successive breath, and with each successive cycleof inhalation and exhalation you add to the growing germ-stew in front of your mouth and nose.

At the end of the day, you throw the mask away. You do this NOT because you enjoy wasting your money, but because your mask becomes way too funky to wear the next day. And if that mask is too funky to put on tomorrow morning, it was too funky for you to have been wearing last night.

You would never interfere with your car's exhaust - yet you stupidly interefered with your own. Clearly, you think less of yourself than you do of your car. Or you just don't think. You abandon thinking, and you act based on bowing to perceived authority.
