Came across an article this morning that said if your household income is $200k or above and have a plump retirement account the economy looks pretty darn good.

No one will make that happen for you.

I guess you just don't see the deep chasm in the timeline of the DJIA..

It sure looked like it was going to shyt.  Then it came to light it was all about the biggest insider trading scandal that made Martha Stewart look like Betty CrockPot.. The headline was prices have increased more than ever before on Friday.. DJIA Hummed along wiht a gain.  It's still only up 8.7% over the last year.  It has done better before.

6 Months ago the Epstien Files were also on Scam Bondeeks desk.  What has happened?  Yet??

Consider yourself lucky to get an inheritance at all, many don't but still seem to reach a comfortable position.

Estimates vary, but surveys show that around 15% to 30% of people actually receive an inheritance, while a majority of households receive none at all. Some studies suggest that over a lifetime, the percentage could be higher, with about one-third of households receiving a wealth transfer at some point. The likelihood of receiving an inheritance is strongly tied to socioeconomic factors like income and wealth.

Inheritance statisticsOver the last 10 years: 17% of adults received an inheritance.

Lifetime expectation: One study estimates that about 30% of households can expect to receive a wealth transfer over their lifetime.

By wealth level: The wealthiest 10% of families are significantly more likely to have inherited money, with 37.8% reporting they have.

By age: The probability of receiving an inheritance increases with age, peaking in the 56-65 age bracket.

Good on you for being the "good son" and taking care of business. Many Seniors have no one.

We have been on that ride for almost 20 years now. The wife's folks are gone now and my Mom took their place. My half brother is talking care of our Dad.

Those two items run us about $320/month for a $500k home here in Colorado.

Death or taxes, take your pick!

The formula is quite simple but life seems to get in the way for many.

2022 Federal Reserve Board study found that 43% of people aged 55 to 64 had no retirement savings.

A 2023 Credit Karma survey showed that 10% of baby boomers had no retirement savings at all.

According to a 2024 AARP report, 1 in 5 (20%) Americans aged 50 and older have no retirement savings.

The U.S. Government Accountability Office found that as of 2022, 32% of households with a worker aged 55 or older had no retirement savings or defined benefit plan.
