Bingo and Its still made 2 this very day under "Stellantis" who Own all Chrysler Trademarks today..
The "Concorde" survived into the 1990s as well but was just a "Re-Badged" Dodge Intrepid
Was also a Time "French" bought em out before Chrysler finally took over..
In the 1980s Amc had spare plant capacicity available contracts make Dodge and Crhysler
Made Renault here too because they could use the "AMC" Dealership Network to distribute their own Models..
Yes he wanted the "JEEP" Trademark the Brand and still a "Best" $eller this very day
The main plant for "Jeep" still in Toledo Ohio
The "main plant" was demolished long ago. It was on the east side of I-75 just south of the Michigan border.
Jeeps are made at the Stickney Road plant a few miles away on the west side of I-75.
That old plant had smoke stacks that had "Willys" "Overland" patterned into the brick.
Could be seen from many miles away.
It was 5 levels and over 3 million square feet.
BTW
Renault only had controlling interest. Never completely bought it.
One thing: The government would not allow a foreign company to own the military portion.
AMC had the division that made Hummers (that was AM General and it went to LTV eventually).
Chrysler bought up the whole AMC shebang when they got into it.
Please seat yourself.
I like the very things you hate.
