It is a new republican tax on American consumers.
As I understand it, SOME of the tariffs are geared to onshore jobs that everyone since Reagan offshored. But most of them appear to be just new taxes with no upside for consumers.

Ya ran with "legal experts disagree," right before you admitted that the topmost legal experts endorsed Trump's argument firmly, finally, and definitively. The fact that anonymous, lesser "experts" talk pretty to you is rendered irrelevant by the findings of the foremost legal experts in the country, whose word is final.
