Who told you this?
During the Obama administration, the primary White House renovation was a major, congressionally-approved
$376 million infrastructure project to upgrade critical systems. Separately, the Obamas reportedly spent approximately $1.5 million of their own funds on personal redecorating and aesthetic updates.
Infrastructure Project
The most significant cost associated with the White House during the Obama years was a four-year project, which began in 2010, to replace failing, decades-old infrastructure.
  • Cost: The estimated cost was $376 million, funded by taxpayers.
  • Purpose: The project focused on essential, unseen upgrades, including the overhaul of the HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire suppression, and data/communications systems.
  • Approval: Funding for this modernization was approved by Congress in 2008, during the George W. Bush administration, following a report that identified the building's aging systems were at risk of failure.
  • Nature of work: This was not a "personal" renovation but critical maintenance overseen by the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) to ensure the building remained functional.
Personal and Aesthetic Updates
For personal aesthetic changes, the Obamas used private funds, not taxpayer money.
  • Redecorating: They reportedly spent about $1.5 million on redecorating the private living quarters and the Oval Office, including new furniture, paint, and artwork. This was paid for through the White House Endowment Trust, a private fund managed by the White House Historical Association, and personal contributions.
  • Other projects: Michelle Obama established a kitchen garden on the South Lawn, and an existing outdoor tennis court was adapted for dual use as a basketball court. These projects were also paid for with private funds or by the Obamas personally at minimal cost.
It is widely considered misleading to link the $376 million infrastructure cost to personal spending by the Obama family, as the project was a pre-approved, necessary structural overhaul of the historic building's core systems.

About 40 cents a gallon less than it ever was under Biden, once your pedophile moron forced gas prices to double and triple from the $2.37 cents it was in NJ when Trump left office.  And it was less than HALF of what it was at the high point the following year.  Thanks to your hero's efforts, the gas price in NJ hit a record high of $5.02 in June of 2022.

And you didn't register a single complaint about what Biden did to cause that at the time, did you, you partisan asshole?

Cheapest gas in Florida right now is around $2.39 per gallon, with the lowest prices found in North Florida cities like St. Petersburg, Milton, and Fort Walton Beach.

If gas gets any lower, (4 year low now), I will be buying a new vehicle. I just know I will. These tariffs are killing me.  8-)

It's my pleasure there Zeets2. I'm all about shutting down those fabricated responses that are, well, fabricated. You would think that Eggplant would know to stop trying to discredit the "truthful" and verifiable info you are putting out. How many times must one be wrong, before they become strong enough to admit it. It takes a REAL man to admit they were wrong.

Agreed!
This is the Bizarro world they've created for themselves in order to feel secure outside of reality.  In it, they feel no shame or humiliation when they're constantly proven wrong, and don't mind being laughed at for the fools they are!

Obama’s basketball court was paid for with private donations.
