For those who are whining about illegal orders if Trump comes up with a new policy like shooting violent rioters in the legs he doesn't go to the radio, call Charlie Company on the ground and tell Private Snuffy to do it.

No, he would call the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs and/or Secretary of War and tell them. Then it would go all the way down the chain of command where the Company CO would direct a Platoon Leader who would then give the order to the Platoon Sergeant, then to the squad leader, then to Private Snuffy.

I highly doubt that an illegal order would make it that far without someone stopping it.

This is why I am disappointed with Sen Kelly's grandstanding. He knows better
