I got to admit, I never saw this coming.

DOGE claimed to have slashed tens of billions of dollars in expenditures, but it was impossible for outside financial experts to verify that because the unit did not provide detailed public accounting of its work.

No public accounting?

AND YET... it EXPOSED HUNDREDS of BILLIONS of $$$ in waste... MUCH of it being funneled BACK into Democrat Party corruption, waste, fraud and abuse, including one of the biggest Democrat SLUSH funds (i.e. USAid)... It helped identify much of the waste and fraud associated with ACA, which is now being publicized and exposed (ACA was supposed to REDUCE healthcare costs, but instead has DOUBLED them... and made BIG PHARMA RICH)...

THAT ALONE has made DOGE a HUGE success... MAYBE not as big as we SOME had hoped... but STILL, hundreds of Billions of $$$ per year, is NOTHING to sneeze at... and, it has DRIED UP many of the sources of "Democrat Money", that we DIDN'T know where it was coming from... and NOW we DO !!

“DOGE is not dead,” though, Kamarck said, noting that “the cutting effort is definitely” continuing under the Office of Management and Budget, which “has a lot more power than DOGE ever had.”

 However, the termination of DOGE does mean that “the way it operated is dead,” and that will likely come as a relief to government workers who expected DOGE to continue slashing agencies through July 2026 at least, if not beyond.

 Many government workers are still fighting terminations, as court cases drag on, and even Kamarck has given up on tracking due to inconsistencies in outcomes. OMB will likely continue with cuts that Americans appear to want, as White House spokesperson Liz Huston told Reuters that “President Trump was given a clear mandate to reduce waste, fraud and abuse across the federal government, and he continues to actively deliver on that commitment.”

At least two prominent DOGE employees are now involved with the National Design Studio, a new body created through an executive order signed by Trump in August. That body is headed by Joe Gebbia, co-founder of Airbnb, and Trump's order directed him to beautify government websites.
