What is the incentive to own property in that town?  It sounds incredibly expensive.   I have only been on the streets once and just passing through.   I am not attracted to urban centers.  Moving from DC Suburbs to the Eastern Shore, while financially has hurt, has made for more pleasant living.

yeah got 2 great kids who an engineer (graduate #1 in his class) and a teacher who just got her Masters

that's my greatest success by far....nothing else is even close

Can I ask what discipline?  I do admire qualified engineers.  I often wish I was one.
I am ever closer to getting into controls theory.  Maybe I can apply it to myself, but my feedback loop is skewed from being born a liberal beltway bubble boomer. baby.  I truly am cursed for being born there.

Congratulations!   I am very happy for yours and your childrens success.  Making things work is admirable.  Maybe they can teach you thing or two and get your brain woke.  Do they question your politics yet?

he's not in engineering as an engineer anymore....he manages teams of engineers...engineers make good managers too

starting when he was 5, I used to have him go up and pay at stores and restaurants by himself...yeah....he could make change then....I did the same with my daughter.

I encouraged them to walk up to cops who are on a lunch break to talk and thank them...the got in a habit of it and still do.

I set up brokerage accounts for them early on and let them run the show....they drove the boat....they had a golf cart to get around.....and I made them face their problems and learn to fix them or not allow problem to arise in the first place...I also let them run their own AAU ball teams

their lives are theirs....they needed to learn that early on.....both went absolutely nuts in college...dropped out for awhile and then went back and started from scratch in different fields

you would not believe how much criticism I got raising my kids this way

when I'm dead and gone I will still be here in a way because of them....had to make sure they did it right
