After realizing that her initial retirement target of $100,000 “may not be enough,” the former Cinnabon employee at the center of a viral racist confrontation has increased the goal on her GiveSendGo fundraiser to $271,301. As of now, the campaign has reached $127,813, climbing by more than $30,000 since yesterday morning.
With the campaign now soaring past six figures, the former employee announced plans to retire, claiming the unexpected financial support makes it possible for her to leave the workforce entirely. Her updated six-figure fundraising goal suggests she intends to leverage the viral moment into long-term financial security.
I would expect that. Good for her. However, I am hoping that the message will grow from it though. Of course it will be about her in the beginning. She is getting a **** load of money. Duh. I am looking at the long term.
