1) IF a nation builds products using "slave" labor (like China does), and can sell the products in America BELOW what American companies can profitably produce... paying American workers, American wages... It won't be long before those American industries will close ! BASIC economics... and is what happened to America about 30 years ago !
2) IF that happens and a nation wants to fight back, Tariffs can be imposed to OFFSET the foreign subversion of American industries, and let American businesses reconstitute themselves, OR, foreign companies can be "encouraged" to RELOCATE to America... employing American workers, and paying American wages... (i.e. manufacturers to build plants and data centers in the US.)
THIS is something SOME PEOPLE might THINK is "stupid" (i.e YOU)... but is REALLY "TOTAL GENIUS", and TRUMP has USED the concept to begin the RE-VITALIZATION of America's RUST belt... bringing $20 Trillion of foreign investment back to America, by foreign companies who are going to BUILD in America, employ American workers, pay American taxes, AVOID the tariffs, and REBUILD Americas Rust Belt in the process!!
