AI Overview
Yes, the attribution is highly credible. The still image used in the documentary
Where's My Roy Cohn? is a legitimate, widely-cited photograph taken by Mariette Pathy Allen
This photo purports to be of donald trump. It is clearly not even close. Why does AI pretend to be stupid and further the lie that captions the photo?

AI systems do not intentionally "pretend to be stupid" or lie; rather, their failure to correctly identify individuals in images stems from technical limitations in how they process data and interpret context.

When an AI encounters an image with a misleading caption—such as a photo of someone who is clearly not Donald Trump—it often fails for the following reasons:
1. Priority of Text over Visual Data
Many AI models prioritize "multimodal" consistency, meaning they try to reconcile what they see with what they are told. If a caption explicitly labels an image, the AI may "hallucinate" a match because its objective is to find patterns that support the provided text rather than to debunk it.
2. Technical Sensitivity to Image Quality
AI image recognition is highly sensitive to environmental and technical variables that humans ignore. Factors that can cause a "fail" in identification include:
  • Lighting and Angle: Changes in shadows or a non-frontal "profile" view can significantly reduce accuracy.
  • Occlusion: If parts of a face are even slightly obscured, the AI may fail to identify the person or mistakenly match them to a prominent figure it has more data on.
  • Resolution: Low-quality or compressed images (common on hosting sites like Postimg) provide fewer data points for the AI to analyze, leading to "best guess" errors.
3. Training Data Bias
AI models are trained on massive datasets where certain public figures (like Donald Trump) are overrepresented. This creates a "gravity" effect: when an AI is uncertain about an identity, it is statistically more likely to suggest a famous individual it "knows" well than to admit it does not recognize the person.
4. Lack of True "Understanding"
Unlike humans, AI does not have a concept of "truth" or "identity." It operates on probability and pattern matching. It sees a collection of pixels and assigns a probability score to a name. If a misleading caption is present, it can artificially inflate that probability score, leading the AI to confirm a false statement because it lacks the common sense to see the obvious mismatch.
5. Adversarial Exploitation
Some images are intentionally modified with "adversarial" noise—pixel-level changes invisible to humans but designed to trick AI into a specific misidentification. This can cause the AI to confidently "see" a celebrity where none exists.

You know what's annoying?

I waded through that and it is nearly as stupid as the **** from @Vegas  ...

You can't write prompts, don't understand how AI came to an unqualified conclusion, and refuse to grasp that it didn't do so by attempting to "recognize"  the subjects.

Cheddy got his taint punted by @*MankyLittleSkidmark, ffs.

Gonna stop ya there.

I wrote my prompt PERFECTLY. AI admitted that it is - as you freudian slip - UNQUALIFIED to judge the photograph.

It relied on the reputation of the liars to sustain the lie, because it is not capable of SEEING it is a lie. Image

That was the admission which I formulated my query to elicit, shmook.

You poor girl. You didn't get the hint from the freudian slip reference that I understood your intended usage?

You are one thick stooge for a fellow who claims to have matriculated.

You are also stupid for thinking my query clumsy, given it produced precisely the admission I sought.

Let's face it, square. You're stupid. Or at least mediocre.

I'd like to force to two of you into a cage match where your only weapons are interpretive dance.

He would have the advantage of having completed multiple courses in lesbian studies. But you'd be given tap shoes with a hidden shiv.

He will always think it's Trump. He isn't smart enough to see otherwise. He is also way too attached to this pic. He isn't ready to endure the emotional void that he will suffer if it is gone.
