A new holiday spending survey finds parents are shelling out more than ever to fill stockings.
Nationwide, parents expect to drop an average $521 per kid — up 13% from last year — turning holiday cheer into what feels like a second rent payment, according to CouponBirds’ annual Christmas Spending & Savings Survey of 2,500 parents.
To afford it, families are charging first and worrying later.
A staggering 58% expect to go into debt, mostly via credit cards and Buy Now, Pay Later plans — and only 32% feel confident they’ll escape the holidays debt-free.
And a whopping 43% of parents are using services like Klarna and Afterpay this year, more than double last Christmas.

It's the parents that don't have a choice is where our minds go. A week before Christmas the wife heard a conversation with a 10 year old girl at school. A case of a single mom with 3 kids 3,8,10 hanging on by a thread. Time to take action, $2k later we made sure this was a good Christmas for them. The money will run out in January but we did what we could with gifts, Kohl's card, Walmart cards.
All I got was a lump of coal and still had to cook dinner!

GDP is up due to consumer spending and increased Military expenditures. I guess even the ICE Money goes into the calc. The Mass Deportation with "No Price Tag".
Just charge 6 million dollars for a banana. If 1000 people buy a few bunches,, wham bam thank you mam!.. The GDP is in orbit! (Living the Lie of Illusion of Value)
If prices go up.. Guess what else does.. consumer spending. And everybody borrowed from Peter to pay Santa.
None of us are economists. The sad part is Trump doesn't employ any.
