Archaeological digs have found the following!!!
1. Sodom was destroyed by a pyroclastic (super heated) blast turning the lower city into dust leaving just the ground of the lower city and shearing off the buildings of the upper city.
2. Jericho had a massive inner wall with a smooth ramp between it and the smaller outer wall. That wall fell outward all around the city burying the ramp and outer wall making it easy for an army to invade killing the people and burning the buildings. All valuables were left in place and the just harvested grains were left in the full bins.
