I get it, Johnson/Seward had no clue what Alaska would be worth to the US in 1867 either. So, I agree with you. Only acquire Greenland if it wants to be acquired and for a fair price. Otherwise, walk away and work on other things that are more pressing.
What ever happened about all the talk of buying some Canadian territories? Was that just some flippant idea that was thrown around so people can gossip?
