You all remember growing up being taught that in America, no one is above the law? 

Article VI, Clause 2 (Supremacy Clause):
This Constitution, and the Laws of the United States which shall be made in Pursuance thereof; and all Treaties made, or which shall be made, under the Authority of the United States, shall be the supreme Law of the Land

Unless you have connections with a president of the United States, then the law doesn't apply to you. You can get a pardon.

The Oath of Office (Article VI, Clause 3):
The Senators and Representatives before mentioned, and the Members of the several State Legislatures, and all executive and judicial Officers, both of the United States and of the several States, shall be bound by Oath or Affirmation, to support this Constitution.

Equal Protection Clause (14th Amendment):
"No State shall... deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws."
