This passage can be read as roughly fifth- or sixth-grade level if we focus only on the basic idea.The passage is mainly saying that numbers are going up, bells or gongs are sounding, and some strange creature from another planet is being described. The creature comes from a place called Katspiel, which passed by Earth a long time ago and may or may not ever return.So underneath the strange wording, the basic story is simple: something exciting is happening, a weird being is involved, and its home planet is far away and mysterious.The language sounds complicated, but the core meaning is not especially advanced.
