He wrote hundreds of great songs, and the most popular covers of his songs were usually sung by someone else with a better singing voice.
There are plenty of great Jewish vocalists of both sexes, but Dylan was not one of them. Dylan was a good guitar player, his songs are rather sophisticated wit regard to the chords used.
