Disney has no desire to piss off parents. But it is difficult to find talented singers and actors to play the necessary roles in Disney World. Not everyone can sing and dance, in fact most cannot and will not do it all day for the somewhat meager wages that Disney pays. Far less than Broadway or off broadway. And a really high percentage of the young singers and dancers and artists and performers that Disney needs are gay.
DeSantis, who wants of be president and thinks he will do this by being a less annoying and crooked blowhard like Trump started this with his "dont say gay" bill. There was no issue here, parents were not complaining about teachers making their kids gay. At most, teachers were only stressing TOLERANCE of all lifestyles. So DeSantis picked this issue and the performers at Disney, many of whom are gay and nearly all of whom think the LBGTQ people should have equal rights, went on strike because they knew that Disney was contributing big bucks to DeSantis. So Disney declared that they would no longer contribute to either party and DeSantis, who wanted REVENGE at his loss of money, went **** and went after Disney's perks.
Don't feed me the crap that parents demanded the end of the Reedy Creek Improvement District. Not one Floridian in fifty even was aware of Disney's sweeheart deals from the 1960s'/
