Walt Disney was a union-buster in his later years and mostly left the creative aspect of his films up to better qualified experts. Many of the best cartoons were done by animators like Chuck Jones who left Disney for Warner Brothers.
Walt was a prude in many ways and you can easily see the difference between cartoons made after he gave up control over content.
Note that the names of the voice actors for Disney's first films, Sleeping Beauty, Snow White, Song of the South, Bambi, Pinocchio were not advertised on the posters as they now do for all cartoons.
