I do not think that the US has the power to impose democracies on Muslim nations.
I say this because they have tried this many times and have yet to be successful.
Neither side in the present Sudanese civil war is worthy of supporting. Perhaps assassinating both of the strongmen is the only solution.


How can the US "empower" civilian leaders?
Nearly every time the US has chosen to support a new leader in a Muslim county, the result has been rule by a dictatorship: Lebanon, Libya, Egypt, Afghanistan. Perhaps Kurdistan is the only exception, but I don't know much about Kurdistan, other that Kurds speak several languages and belong to several political factions.
