And this is not about fireplaces, it is about furnaces and ovens as they wear out beyond the possibility of repair.
A gas fireplace consists of a chimney, which is already there, and a simple device that has gas jets in it. This would be removed and replaced by an electric device.
I have an electric radiator that is filled with oil (which merely circulates, and does not ever get burned) that easily heats my bedroom. It cost me $39.95, plus tax.
