Marriage for love is not a traditional human concept.
The traditional view is that women are property, and that marriages are arranged by the elders with the purpose of creating social bonds between tribes or factions within tribes.
Typically, the man's family is bribed with a dowry for their taking another mouth to feed (ie the bride) off her parents' hands.
